Texas Songwriter

As a child Kimberly moved to the “beat of many a different drums’, submersing herself in listening and singing along to old vinyls of rock, country, motown, folk and disco provided by her Daddy. She was delightfully influenced, encouraged and handed a guitar at the age of 8. She began taking guitar lessons at her church with her dad, Doug. Her first performances were at Sunday services. She continued on in pursuit of developing her vocal talents by joining choir teams throughout her junior and senior high school years. Kimberly’s musical gifts were a blessing that ran thick in the blood on both sides of the family. Daddy Doug was a trained pianist, guitarist and vocalist. Her beautiful Grandmother, Miriam Lobland (AKA “MeeMaw)” was an accomplished vocalist, organist, pianist and percussionist. Miriam. wrote and published one of her own songs, “Dreamer In Distress” in 1962. It was recorded on 45 vinyl in Houston, Texas. In 2015 Kimberly honored Miriam’s memory by recording an acoustic version of “Dreamer In Distress” (included on her 1st CD release). Kimberly’s passion for music has never stalled. She has been performing solo and with a variety of bands in the Houston, Austin and surrounding areas for many years. She gives her heart and has the ethic of a true pro. Kimberly continues to take her life experiences to paper and song with a twist of Texas, Americana and folk style.
